Should any object to the above mentioned plan, "the self
denials it would subject to, the many mortifications that it
must be accompanied with," I would turn them to that
northern poet Thompson.
  Oh let not then dull luxury impair
  That manly spirit which now strings your nerves,
  And draws from noble toil well earn'd delight!
  O let not the soft penetrating plague
